Mixed Martial Arts

The last Bellatora event with a good viewership. The Bellator organization's Friday event turned out to be quite a success. Despite the fact that on paper the fight event was not especially filled with strong names (in the fight of the evening Ilima-Lei Macfarlane surrendered Alejandra Lara and in the main event Saad Awad knocked out Ryan Couture) in terms of audience, achieved a good result - the event was watched by 466,000 people . From March the better result was achieved only by the event on which Fedor Emelianenko fought with Frank Mir. An event with names like Michael Chandler, Gegard Mousasi or Benson Henderson did not get a better result than an event with Hawaii-born Ilima-Lei Macfarlane - is the new media star born?

The third heavyweight clash was confirmed.

After many weeks of discussion and media scuffles, we can now be sure that there will be Chuck Liddell's third fight (21-8, 16-7 in UFC) with Tito Ortiz (19-12-1, 15-11-1 at UFC). The duel will be organized by the Golden Boy supervisor group (managed by Oscar de la Hoya), which is entering the MMA market.

I am proud to say that we have signed a contract for the fight against Chuck Liddell of Tito Ortiz. It will be a huge event for fans of this sport around the world. Ortiz and Liddell are some of the best-known fighters in the history of MMA; these are the legends of this sport.

The first and second confrontation between Tito and Liddell was won by the older American, in both fights Iceman knocked out his rival. Liddell has not been fighting since June 2010. when he was knocked out by Rich Franklin during UFC 115. It was Chuck's third defeat by knockout, he won the last victory of the 48-year-old by defeating Wanderlei Silva in December 2007. A much smaller break from the performances in the cage is Ortiz, who fought his last duel in January last year at Bellator 170 - during this event Tito gave Chael Sonnen a fight that aroused a lot of controversy.

Stuff promoting the upcoming gala. Already this week the UFC organization will organize the International Fight Week, the crowning of which will be the fight event marked with the number 226. In the fight of the evening event, the heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic will stand up to the fourth defense of the title by taking the holder of the light heavyweight category belt, Daniel Cormier. In co-main event Max Holloway will face Brian Ortega in the competition for the feather category championship. Below are video materials showing preparations of the mentioned four for the upcoming fights.

The championship will precede other interesting battles such as the fights of Francis Ngannou with Derrick Lewis or Michael Chiesa with Anthony Pettis. Additionally, on Friday, the final event of the 27th edition of The Ultimate Fighter will take place, in the last fight of the event Israel Adesanya will fight Brad Tavares.
